This was a bit of a Doh ScenarioI installed CentOS 6 Server today and couldn’t (as a Long time ubuntu user) figure out how to make the ethernet card(s) come up when the system booted..
There might be a utility, but I don’t know what it is. You can just create/edit a file at
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 with contents similar to:
DEVICE=eth0 BOOTPROTO=static ONBOOT=yes IPADDR=192.168.0.199 NETMASK=255.255.255.0 GATEWAY=192.168.0.1
The same can be done for ifcfg-eth1 and other nics..
